About Me

b & w reflections

Hey everyone!!

My name is Roselyn and I am a twenty-year-old psychology student who has no clue what I want to do with my life apart from writing. And possibly working with kids.

I started this blog because I love analyzing literature and wanted a place where I could share my thoughts with like-minded people. It has since expanded to encompass my other interests such as movies and, most recently, photography.

I spend my free time creating all kinds of art from watercolour to charcoal to photography, spending time walking in nature (often photographing and painting what I see), watching good movies, listening to an eclectic mix of music, and of course, reading and writing about books.

My author/illustrator idol is Brian Selznick and I am absolutely obsessed with The Invention of Hugo Cabret. Naturally, the movie adaptation, Hugo, is my favourite movie bar none. I also love The Night Circus, Crimson Peak and am obsessed with The Phantom of the Opera. Plus way too many other books and movies to list here.

I hope you enjoy reading my blog!

  1. Hi Roselyn, Thank you for following my photography blog, Jane’s Lens. I hope you enjoy my work. It’s refreshing to come across a Reader’s blog. I look forward to reading more.

  2. So, i decided to click on your about page and was happy to see ‘psychology, hugo, and night circus.’ I’m a psychologist, loved hugo and the night circus. 🙂
    Lovely blog by the way.

      1. I love Haruki Murakami, my particular favorites are Dance Dance Dance and Kafka on the Shore. I love Jane Austen. I’m also liking Benjamin Alire Saez (Aristotle & Dante and Last Night I Sang to the Monsters). Shaun Tan’s Red Tree (picture book/graphic novel). I mostly answered books. But I have too many interest…art, books, movies, music, etc.

        1. I love Shaun Tan too! The others are all on my TBR list – hopefully I can get around to them soon. Thanks for the recs 🙂

Same – it took me forever to decide what to include on my about me page because I have too many favorites 😛

          1. Wow! I don’t encounter that many people who know of Shaun Tan. That’s awesome. 🙂
You’re welcome. I read a lot of different things. Hope you enjoy them when you get to them.

I love hearing from you and will always reply!
