This week’s theme for The Daily Post’s photo challenge is ‘transient‘.
“The beauty of this day doesn’t depend on its lasting forever.”
I visited the Scarborough Bluffs this weekend and will be posting a comprehensive photo essay soon. This photo gave me pause when reviewing it at home and I realized that, for me, it encapsulates this week’s theme perfectly.
The sky was ever changing as the sun appeared and disappeared behind the clouds. The water was glass-like and draped with bands of turquoise and ultramarine. Sailboats meandered through the water, crossing paths with seagulls swooping in the gentle breeze.
Timing was everything to capture the sailboat perfectly positioned against the stripe of turquoise in the middle of the lake. Soon the boat would have moved on and the light and patterns of waves would have been forever changed.
In Photoshop, I applied a subtle tilt-shift effect to add a dreamy, meditative quality to the scene.
I can’t wait to browse through everyone else’s posts and see how others interpreted this theme!!
